POLICE VEHICLES

Police vehicles have specific needs. Electronic devices in them must continue to operate and it is imperative that the interior be kept at an adequate temperature, especially in winter, without leaving the engine idling.

PATROL VEHICLES’ HEATING NEEDS

These vehicles must keep the on-board computer connected and maintain the right temperature inside. Regardless of the outside temperature, police officers must be able to work in their vehicle without having to run the engine at idle, especially in winter.

Our mission: Install a heating system that limits pollution and fuel consumption.

Emergency vehicles are conducive to a lot of unnecessary idling to be able to access their working equipment (on-board computer) and have them ready to start in case of emergency during our cold period. The Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu police brotherhood mandated us to find a solution to reduce pollution and fuel consumption by reducing unnecessary idling.

OUR SOLUTION: AIR CONDITION THE VEHICLE WITHOUT STARTING THE ENGINE

Remco Air installed standalone systems that avoid having to run the engine. This results in decreased fuel consumption, pollution, a pleasant temperature in the car, and systems remain functional (computers, refrigerators, TVs…).We installed an Idling Management System and glycol heating system on their vehicles.

RESULTS

With these changes on their vehicles, the police force has reduced citizens’ complaints regarding unnecessary idling, reduced air pollution and substantially increased fuel savings. With programming set according to your needs, you can reduce your idling by 75% and save almost $4,865 over a period of 10 months!
